Club Overview

Anyone can play Wheelchair Basketball, you don’t have to be disabled to play. All students are welcome to come to the training sessions where you will find disabled and non-disabled people taking part together. If you are willing to jump into one of the sports wheelchairs, then you are able to play!

It is a fast, physical and challenging sport being played worldwide by thousands of people. It encompasses a number of key skills that create fun competition for all. Cardiff Met Wheelchair Basketball Club is one of the newest and most exciting clubs set up within Cardiff Met's Students' Union and focuses on competition and socialising. You do not need any previous experience to play.

We currently have a team entered into the BUCS leagues and won a BUCS National Championship silver medal the past two seasons. The club also has several teams on the weekend who play in various different leagues that you could get involved in. If you would like to try wheelchair basketball come along to training and have a go!

There are also opportunities to play National League for our Division 1 and Division 2 teams, and for females the top end of the pathway includes our professional Women's Premier League team, competing at the highest levels of wheelchair basketball.
